Attorney Marta V. Canossa brings not only legal expertise to her work, but also a deeply personal understanding of the immigrant experience. Originally from Costa Rica, she immigrated to the United States and pursued both her undergraduate and graduate education in this country. Having personally navigated the immigration system, she understands firsthand the uncertainty, fear, and hope that many of her clients experience. This perspective shapes the way she approaches every case, with empathy, dedication, and a profound commitment to protecting the people she represents.
Ms. Canossa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Spring Hill College, with a focus on computer information systems and political science. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans, where she also earned Certificates in International Legal Studies and Civil Law.
Over the course of her career, Attorney Canossa has helped thousands of individuals and families navigate the complexities of the United States immigration system. She has successfully represented clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), guiding them through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Influenced by her Jesuit education, Attorney Canossa has been guided by a desire to serve others and make a meaningful difference. Throughout her academic career she received multiple scholarships and has remained dedicated to supporting immigrant communities. She regularly contributes time to pro bono efforts and collaborates with nonprofit organizations that serve immigrants and vulnerable populations.
Outside of her professional life, Attorney Canossa enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new cultures through travel. An entrepreneur at heart, she is involved in various business ventures and enjoys creative pursuits such as interior design, bringing the same energy and vision to her projects that she brings to her legal practice.
