Attorney Marta V. Canossa, originally from Costa Rica, completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States. She graduated from Spring Hill College with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, focused on computer information systems and political sciences; and obtained her Common Law Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans with Certificates in International Legal Studies and Civil Law. She is a member of the Mississippi State Bar, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
She has built a reputable private practice in the area of immigration law. Her firm has represented thousands of clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
As part of Ortega, Canossa and Associates, PLC, attorney Canossa strives to open new doors and create better opportunities for immigrants in the United States. She seeks to help companies obtain the right human resources solutions and lead the way on today’s global economy. She hopes to enrich American communities by keeping families together.
While completing her higher education in the Jesuit tradition, she was inspired to strive for social justice and to make a difference in the world. She was the recipient of several scholarships that funded most of her studies. Since law school, she feels passionate about the special needs of immigrants in the United States. She is a close friend of several non-profit organizations, and dedicates substantial time of pro bono work to serve the immigrant community.
Outside of Ortega, Canossa and Associates, PLC, attorney Canossa enjoys spending time with her family, and traveling. Truly entrepreneurial in nature, she is constantly working on new business-related projects, including the design and upkeep of this website. She is also an interior design aficionado.
